The Thursday morning Bible Study is on hiatus and will resume on July 11.
There will be a potluck next Sunday, June 23, following service. Please bring a favorite dish to share.
If you would like to help adorn the altar with fresh-cut flowers, there is a sign-up sheet on the back bulletin board. Vases are located in the kitchen cabinet beneath the wall oven. If you would prefer to financially sponsor flowers without having to do the arrangement, please get in touch with Kris Brown for assistance.
A prayer for Christians on this day in which the secular calendar honors fatherhood:
Lord God, heavenly Father, by whose name all fatherhood is blessed, grant Your continued favor and blessing upon all earthly fathers, that they, in turn, may be examples of faith and godliness to all their children. Help them recognize the holy office You have entrusted to them and strengthen them to serve faithfully within it; grant that their fatherly service may not be burdensome, but rather joyful and glad. Bless also the memory of fathers who have passed on from this vale of tears. Give us respectful hearts that we may always honor, serve and obey, love and cherish our fathers, to the glory of Your name; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
