“Beware of false prophets,” says Jesus, because there is nothing more dangerous or deadly in this life, nothing to be avoided more seriously than a false prophet, just as there is nothing more poisonous or destructive than false teaching, which, of course, are the false words of false prophets. “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never harm me.” So the saying goes. Jesus would disagree. Words can hurt you; in fact, they can do far worse, for the false words that spew from the mouths of false prophets can lead to your eternal damnation and destruction.
