Christ Jesus died upon the Cross for you. He gave His life to purchase and win you from all sins, from death, and from the power of the devil. Therefore, resist the devil, who, with questions and doubt, would have you despair; resist him, firm in the faith. That is to say, fix your eyes upon Christ Jesus, who was crucified, died, was buried, and arose on the Third Day, all for you, and who gives you the benefits of His death and resurrection here in His house. And know that nothing, neither trouble nor distress, neither death nor life, neither the devil nor his demons, neither things present nor things to come; indeed, no created thing can separate you from the love of God, which is Christ Jesus our Lord. For He is the Good Shepherd, who laid down His life for you; in Him is grace and peace, now and in the sad and lonely days yet to come. He is the Good Shepherd, your shepherd, and in Him, you shall not want.
